Here are the steps to take and the information to include when reporting problems:

  • A description of the problem. Usually just a brief description in your own words what you were attempting to do when the problem happened
    • Trying to edit a Snu
    • Trying to import a K3 project
    • Trying to export
  • Korsakow log file
    • In the Help menu, select "Show Log", you should see a file called "korsakow.log". You can simply attach this file to your report.
  • Your project file, usually called "Korsakow.krw"
  • If the problem occurred when playing an export, include the "project.xml" file
    • Look in the export directory for "data/project.xml"
  • If the project was imported from a K3 project include "database.txt" and "interfaces.txt" files.
  • If you think the problem is related to video files, there a few options
    • If the file is fairly small (less than 5MB) you can include it if you wish
    • In many cases, especially exporting problems, a small extract of the video file will do. If you have access to video editing software you can include a small sample that is at least one second long.
    • If you do not wish to share the video content, you can also try to send a one second clip that doesn't reveal anything, for example if there are parts that are all black or unidentifyable.

All in all you should assemble your materials in a folder you create, compress the folder and send it.
